Sources: Man United in pole position to sign Hojlund after hijack
Man United remain in pole position to seal a deal for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, sources have told Football Insider.
However, it is believed a hijack from the French giants cannot be ruled out as the race for the 20-year-old’s signature hots up.
PSG could offer Hojlund a lucrative wage package as well as the chance to be part of an exciting project at Parc des Princes.
Nonetheless, Man United remain confident about bringing the exciting youngster to Old Trafford to remedy their lack of striking options.
It is believed the Red Devils lead the race for Hojlund’s signature and are continuing to explore a potential financial package with Atalanta.
Football Insider revealed last week (15 July) that United have offered at least three players in part-exchange for the striker during talks with the Italian outfit.
However, Atalanta are holding firm in their desire to get a cash-only deal for the Denmark international – who has already agreed personal terms with Erik ten Hag’s side.
Hojlund is regarded as one of the best young strikers in world football and wowed Man United scouts with his performances throughout the 2022-23 campaign.
He notched 15 goals across 41 appearances in all competitions last term despite starting in just 26 of those outings.
The 20-year-old, who is under contract at Atalanta until June 2027, has scored six goals in his first six Denmark caps.

Man United have already wrapped up deals for Mason Mount and Andre Onana so far this summer.
Ten Hag’s side, who will play Champions League football in the 2023-24 campaign, kick off the new season with a home clash against Wolves on 14 August.
