Sources: Man United make decision on triggering Casemiro
Manchester United are not planning to trigger the extension option in Casemiro’s contract, sources have told Football Insider.
The Brazilian currently has a key role in Ruben Amorim’s midfield and has turned around his career at the club after appearing set for the exit door in each of the previous two windows.
The 33-year-old has started the last three games for Man United, with the team coming away victorious in every single one.
Casemiro’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and the Manchester side are looking to trim their overall wage bill, which could see him depart the club.

Casemiro would have to take major wage cut to stay
Last month, Casemiro was tipped to be the victim of Man United wage cuts by former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson.
It is rumoured that the former Real Madrid man is on around £375,000 a week at the moment.
United have the option to extend the midfielder’s contract by another year, but the club hierarchy feel that would be an overly costly move given his age.
If he wants to stay at Old Trafford, Casemiro would have to agree to a huge wage cut, which would help release some of the pressure on the Man United bank balance.
Amid the current situation, the Brazilian veteran is being tracked by a number of Saudi Pro League clubs.
Man United consider future of another midfielder
Meanwhile, Man United could be open to selling Bruno Fernandes next summer if Saudi clubs return with offers worth upwards of £100m.

That is according to their former chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that United could be tempted to cash in on Fernandes and reinvest elsewhere.
The 31-year-old rejected the chance to leave Old Trafford over the summer, turning down a big-money offer to stay with the Red Devils.
However, Football Insider revealed on 15 September that Fernandes could be tempted to leave Man United if they fail to show considerable improvements on last season’s failure.
