Sources: Man United race to sign Bundesliga sensation

Man United and Arsenal have each joined Man City in the race to sign highly-rated Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown.

Nathaniel Brown has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s top prospects in the last 18 months, becoming a regular at left-back for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 22-year-old registered three goals and seven assists in 26 league outings last season, while he has notched one goal and two assists in 10 Bundesliga games so far.

Football Insider revealed in September that Man City are tracking Brown, but a move for his services in January is unlikely as it stands.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Arsenal and Man United are now both also interested in the Germany international.

Nathaniel Brown tracked by Arsenal and Man United amid Man City interest

Brown has been compared to Joao Cancelo for his impressive attacking abilities, and his strong form at Frankfurt earned him a maiden Germany call-up last month.

An imminent move to Man City does not seem likely, but he could well be on his way to the Premier League soon regardless as other teams join the race for his services.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I think it’s (Nathaniel Brown) more a long-term target rather than one for January.

It’s not a priority right now, they’ve (Man City) got Nico O’Reilly really impressing at left-back, impressing so much that he has broken into the England team.

They’ve got (Rayan) Ait-Nouri working his way back to fitness…he impressed before picking up that injury. I don’t think it’s a priority for City to bring in a left back.

But look, Brown has emerged as one of the most coveted young players in European football right now with not just Man City interested, you’ve got the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal also linked with him as well.

Man United prioritising left flank as Daniel Munoz move unlikely

Ruben Amorim’s formation and tactics have been the subject of huge debate during his 12 months at Man United, with players often thrust out of position to feature at wing-back.

Brown is a target for the left wing-back spot, but Football Insider have revealed that United are not planning to move for Daniel Munoz in January.

Reports emerged of a potential approach to Crystal Palace for his services after Munoz admitted it would be a “dream” to play for the Red Devils.

They are instead believed to be giving priority to signing players in other positions in the new year, with Amad, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui all able to play on the right side of a back five.
