Sources: Mason Mount’s father drops clearest signal yet his son could be quitting Chelsea
Mason Mount has dropped the clearest signal yet of his potential Chelsea exit this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources with knowledge of the 24-year-old’s situation have revealed that Mount’s father has mandated an agent to sound out interest in his services.
The England international is out of contract in June 2024 and talks over a renewal have not progressed to the liking of the midfielder or Chelsea.

Football Insider sources revealed last month (15 February) that Mount is demanding parity with top-earning Chelsea stars like Raheem Sterling and Reece James in order to sign a new contract.
He currently earns a reported wage of £80,000-a-week on the deal he signed in 2019.
This site revealed on Monday (13 March) that Liverpool are in pole position to sign Mount if he is to leave Stamford Bridge this summer – with Man United also interested in his services.
Chelsea won’t hesitate to list the midfielder for sale if a new deal can’t be agreed – but are unlikely to fetch an astronomical fee.
As such, it is believed a fee of between £60-70million will be enough to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.
Mount has managed three goals and six assists in 32 appearances as a regular starter this season.
He is currently sidelined with a pelvic injury and missed out as Chelsea advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund last week (7 March).

The 36-cap midfielder turned out for England at the World Cup in Qatar, making two starts and two substitute appearances.
Mount’s best return came during the 2021-22 season – when he managed 13 goals and 16 assists in 53 appearances.
