Sources: Mauricio Pochettino opens door to sensational Tottenham return
Mauricio Pochettino is interested in making a sensational return to Tottenham should they decide to part ways with Thomas Frank.
The 53-year-old’s current focus is fixed on the World Cup, where he will manage the U.S.A, but there is a feeling he could become available after the tournament.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Pochettino would be open to a return to Tottenham should he depart his current post.
Tottenham have been keeping tabs on his situation, while the boss has “never hidden” his willingness to return to the club where he remains highly regarded.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 10 January that Frank could be sacked by Tottenham if his side fail to beat struggling West Ham at home this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino open to Tottenham return
Football Insider revealed on 13 January that Tottenham could appoint an interim manager until the end of the season if they part ways with Frank.
That would open the door for Pochettino to arrive after the World Cup, although his future will largely depend on whether the U.S.M.N.T enjoy a successful tournament.
However, Spurs have been keeping close tabs on his situation in case they do part ways with Frank in a move which would be widely welcomed by fans.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Well, it’s an easy link to me because of his links to Tottenham, but yeah, nothing’s going to happen right now with Pochettino.
“His full focus is on the World Cup with the host nation the United States.
“Who’s to know what’s going to happen after the summer?
“It all depends on how well the USA do at the finals. If they have a disappointing tournament, you can imagine Mauricio Pochettino could be moved on.

“And I’m sure Pochettino himself, he’s never hidden his desire to maybe return to Tottenham.
“He feels he’s got unfinished business there. So he would be somebody I’m sure the club have continued to keep tabs on if something does happen with Thomas Frank.”
Thomas Frank sack update emerges at Tottenham
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown warned Football Insider on 12 January that Frank will be sacked by Tottenham if results to not take an immediate turn for the better.
However, there are doubts about whether the players will step up in what is becoming an increasingly toxic situation both on and off the pitch.
Tottenham lost 2-1 to Aston Villa last time out and were eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round, while their dismal league form has compounded the frustrations.

Brown warned Football Insider on 7 January that Tottenham are concerned about dressing room unrest, with frustrations growing behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, new concerns are growing that the players have not bought in to the new boss’ style of play and the direct contract to Ange Postecoglou’s system.
