Sources: Memphis 901 plotting to sign Kai Kennedy and Rangers teammate Josh McPake fined for disciplinary issues
Rangers attacker Kai Kennedy remains a target for USA side Memphis 901 this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The winger, 20, was wanted by the American second-tier outfit in January and they are keen to pursue a deal on a free transfer when his contract at Ibrox expires.
The Scotland U-21 international is currently on loan at Falkirk and he impressed last weekend with two goals against Airdrie.
Kennedy has made 24 appearances for the League One side across all competitions this season and has scored four goals and provided nine assists in those outings.
Since progressing to the Rangers B team from the under-18s in 2019, Kennedy has been on loan five times, including his current spell at Falkirk.
He has made just seven appearances for the B team in that time and provided two assists during those outings.
Kennedy featured once for Rangers’ first team and played just nine minutes.
But the youngster is attracting interest from Memphis 901 who finished second in the USL championship last season.
Their 2023 season starts this weekend when they face Birmingham Legion.
Meanwhile, Josh McPake has been fined by Rangers due to discipline and off-field conduct while on loan at Queens Park.

The attacker, 21, recently lost his place in the Queens Park starting XI with Aaron Healy, who joined Queens Park from junior football in January, starting ahead of him on the left wing.
McPake is out of contract in 2024 and Rangers are actively trying to offload him.
In other news, according to sources, six Rangers stars set for sit-down talks with club this month.
