Sources: Morecambe manager Stephen Robinson in advanced talks with St Mirren
Morecambe boss Stephen Robinson is in advanced talks with St Mirren over their vacant manager’s job, Football Insider understands.
St Mirren are searching for a new manager following the departure of Jim Goodwin to Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider they are now in negotiations with Robinson.

He has experience of managing in Scotland after a spell with Motherwell prior to his arrival at Morecambe last summer.
The Northern Irishman took over from Derek Adams at the Mazuma Stadium after he guided them to League One for the first time in their history.
They are in the middle of a relegation battle in England’s third tier after a winless run of five games.
Morecambe currently occupy the final place in the relegation zone and are a point from safety.
St Mirren are fighting to finish in the top-six before the Scottish Premiership splits in a few weeks time.
They drew 1-1 with Livingston at the weekend in their first game since Goodwin left for Aberdeen.
Goodwin spent almost three years in charge of the club he spent five seasons at as a player.
Robinson has three years of experience managing in Scotland with Motherwell before resigning in December 2020.

The 47-year-old guided the club to both domestic finals in the 2017-18 campaign.
St Mirren are next in action on Wednesday (23 February) when they travel to bottom-place Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.
In other news, Everton have set their sights on signing a Morecambe teenage sensation.
