Sources: Multiple clubs line up Borna Barisic offers as Rangers contract talks stall

Rangers are yet to open new contract talks with Borna Barisic as the possibility grows that he could leave this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Clubs in Turkey and France are interested in the defender, who has an Ibrox deal that runs until June 2024.

Rangers are expecting bids for Barisic in the upcoming window amid major doubts over his future.

Suitors are preparing offers for the Croatia international, 30, and he could now leave if Rangers’ asking price is met.

The Light Blues are set to lose seven first team stars who are out of contract at the end of the season, including Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack, as well as other established first team regulars.

Loanee Malik Tillman is also set to return to parent club Bayern Munich if his loan is not made permanent this summer.

Last week (5 April), Football Insider first revealed that the 30-year-old could leave Ibrox this summer amid interest from European clubs.

The left-back has been first choice under Michael Beale this season despite the arrival of Ridvan Yilmaz last summer.

Barisic joined the Gers from NK Osijek in 2018 and signed an extension at the club back in 2020.

The defender has made 42 appearances across all competitions for the Light Blues this season.

In those outings he has scored twice and provided 12 assists.

The Croatia international also featured for his country at the World Cup in Qatar alongside former Old Firm rival Josip Juranovic.

Barisic made just one appearance in Qatar in their round of 16 win over Japan.
