Sources: Nathan Collins undergoing Brentford medical today after Wolves accept bid
Nathan Collins will undergo a Brentford medical on Monday after they agreed a £23million fee with Wolves, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international will become the London club’s record signing.
The transfer for Collins, who signed for Wolves from Burnley last summer for around £20m, will surpass the £21m fee paid for German forward Kevin Schade.
Football Insider first broke the news last month (26 June) that Brentford had won the race to sign Collins.
Now, Collins has agreed personal terms and the structure of the fee payments have all been finalised between the two clubs.
Football Insider revealed that the Bees already had a number of bids rejected for the defender this summer but have now closed in on an agreement.
The centre-back’s current contract at the Molineux runs until 2027 following his arrival last summer.
Collins made 31 appearances for Wolves across all competitions last summer and was in the starting lineup for 24 of those outings.
The defender was a regular in Julen Lopetegui’s side before the arrival of Craig Dawson in January pushed him out of favour.

Thomas Frank is looking for more additions to his Brentford side as they attempt to push further up the table next season.
The Bees stormed to a ninth place Premier League finish in the 2022-23 campaign, just one point behind Tottenham and two points away from Aston Villa and European football.
