Nottingham Forest have rejected a £12million Brentford bid for Brennan Johnson, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

That is believed to be around the £15m mark for their academy product, who has attracted interest from the Premier League elite this term.

This includes Leeds United, who have been keeping tabs on the young attacker in recent months.

He has impressed for Forest in the Championship and become a key member of their starting XI since returning last summer from a season-long loan at Lincoln City.

The promotion hopefuls have mainly used Johnson in wide attacking positions and he has responded with five goals and four assists from 25 league matches.

He has made the step up to a higher division look a comfortable one after an outstanding campaign for League One outfit Lincoln City last term.

Johnson made 48 appearances for the Imps, scoring 13 goals and providing 14 assists.
