Sources: Nottingham Forest could be hit with points deduction as new details revealed
Nottingham Forest are at risk of receiving a points deduction if found guilty of making excessive losses over the last three years, sources have told Football Insider.
All 20 Premier League clubs were required to submit their 2022/23 financial accounts by 31 December as part of the new fast-track regulations introduced by the Premier League.
The regulations aim to deal with all financial breaches within the same season to provide clarity over punishments.

Any breaches in the most recent financial accounts will be announced on January 14 and clubs will have just two weeks to respond – any resulting punishments will be handed to clubs by April.
Profit ands ustainability rules state that top-flight clubs can only lose £105million across a three-year period, but clubs that spent time in the Championship have stricter rules.
As reported by talkSPORT, Forest’s allowable losses for the last three years are just £61million – £35million for their Premier League season and £13million for each year in the Championship.
As per the club’s financial accounts, Forest lost £45.6m in 2021/22 and £15.5m in 2020/21 putting them on the brink of breaching regulations if more losses are recorded in 2022/23.
Forest have spent heavily in recent transfer windows, with 22 new signings completed after their promotion in 2022.

The Nottingham-based club spent over £150million on new players, including a club-record deal that could reach £42.5million for Morgan Gibbs-White.
Forest currently sit 15th in the Premier League table but a 10-point deduction would see them drop down to 19th with 10 points.
