Sources: Nottingham Forest in advanced talks to sign Leeds star Drameh

Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to sign Leeds United defender Cody Drameh, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

United manager Marcelo Bielsa has given the green light to the 20-year-old right-back going out on loan in January.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Drameh is closing in on a temporary move to the City Ground that will run for the rest of the season.

Negotiations have intensified in the last 24 hours and a deal is now close to being struck.

Forest have targeted Drameh as a replacement for Djed Spence, who has been recalled from his loan spell by parent club Middlesbrough.

Steve Cooper’s side face competition from German clubs Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen for Drameh’s signature this month.

The English club are in pole position to get a deal done but there is still some work to do.

Drameh has made four senior appearances for Leeds since signing from Fulham in the summer of 2020.

Three of those have come in the Premier League this season, including a start in the 4-1 defeat to Arsenal and sub displays against Man City and Norwich City.

Drameh was criticised by Ian Wright among others for his positioning in the defeat to Arsenal last month.

Leeds are willing to loan him out despite an injury crisis that has robbed them of so many senior stars in recent months.

In other news, Raphinha ‘has no loyalty to Leeds United’ and tipped to sign for giants in January after transfer update.
