Sources: Oludare Olufunwa to quit Liverpool as Plymouth Argyle plot raid
Liverpool defender Oludare Olufunwa is set to leave Anfield this summer on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
Championship new boys Plymouth, League One Bristol Rovers and Scottish Premiership duo St Mirren and Kilmarnock have registered their interest in signing the 21-year-old.
Olufunwa joined Liverpool last August after impressing on trial following his departure from Southampton.
Though primarily a centre-back, he is also comfortable at right-back and made eight appearances for Liverpool’s Under-21s last season.
Olufunwa was snapped up by the Reds on a free transfer in 2022 when his contract at St Mary’s expired and it took five months for him to get his chance in the Premier League 2, not making his first starting until January.
The centre-back did not offer any goal contributions in his limited appearances for the Reds’ under-21s but did manage to get himself sent off, the first of his playing career.
Despite not making many appearances for the Reds’ youth side, the defender made 31 appearances for Southampton’s B team during his spell on the south coast.
Plymouth are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a campaign in the Championship after winning promotion from League One whilst Bristol Rovers will be looking to emulate Plymouth’s league success with new additions this season.

Scottish sides Kilmarnock and St Mirren will both be keen for new arrivals to bolster their squads in an attempt to climb the Scottish Premiership table.
Killie finished just outside the relegation zone, whilst the Saints enjoyed a successful season that saw them finish in the top half.
