Sources: Pivotal Man United January signings update after Rangnick holds talks
Man United have told Ralf Rangnick he can only make loan signings in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Premier League giants are preparing for the first transfer window overseen by the recently-appointed Rangnick.
But a Man United source has told Football Insider that the club’s owners are taking a pragmatic approach in the mid-season window.

They have told the interim manager during talks that he will only be able to use the loan market in January.
It had been expected that Rangnick would be able to bring in signings on permanent deals, especially as he will work as a consultant for the club for two years when his managerial spell ends next summer.
But the club hierarchy led by the Glazers believe it would be better for the club to use the loan market.
It suggests that the club are yet to be totally convinced by Rangnick’s judgement on transfers.
He instead has the chance to lay the groundwork for loan deals or loan-to-buy signings that could be completed at the end of the season.

The news will come as a surprise and disappointment to supporters eager to see their club exploit their riches.
United had been one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League last summer when Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane were the three headline acquisitions.
