Sources: Portsmouth, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley race to sign Arsenal product Robbie Burton
Huddersfield Town, Portsmouth and Barnsley have registered their interest in signing former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Robbie Burton, sources have told Football Insider.
The ex-Arsenal talent is free to find a new side after mutually agreeing to leave the Croatian club this month.
The 23-year-old completed a six-month loan to League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers in July but now finds himself as a free agent.

Burton rejected a new Arsenal contract in 2020 in favour of joining Dinamo, believing that the move offered him a quicker pathway to first-team football.
The central midfielder spent 14 years rising through the youth ranks in Arsenal’s academy before leaving north London for Croatia.
Burton was initially drafted into Dinamo’s youth side, before his impressive performances with the reserves earned him a promotion to the first team.
However, Burton managed just 14 appearances for the senior side, never truly tying down a starting spot.
He spent the 2021/22 season on loan to Croatian outfit Istra 1961, but again struggled to become a regular starter.

His move to Sligo Rovers has been much more successful and now released from his Dinamo contract it seems a move to the Championship or League One could be on the cards.
Mark Fotheringham is looking for January reinforcements to try and keep the Terriers afloat in the Championship, while Barnsley and Portsmouth are both on the lookout for new additions to their League One campaign.
