Sources: Rangers could accept Oliver Antman offer after deal agreed

Rangers could be tempted to accept an offer for Oliver Antman this month following the imminent arrival of Andreas Skov Olsen.

Danny Rohl all but confirmed the arrival of the 26-year-old from Wolfsburg, with Rangers expected to make the official confirmation in the coming days if not hours.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the winger’s expected arrival and any further additions will force Antman down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old has struggled to impress since arriving at Ibrox in August and has played just three league games under Rohl after suffering an adductor injury.

However, the Rangers boss is reluctant to weaken his side and hopes Antman will return to top form in the second half of the season.

Oliver Antman could leave Rangers this month

There have been suggestions that Antman is already finished at Rangers with the club targeting further reinforcements in his position before the window closes.

Rangers fans have been frustrated by Antman and his performances, leading to suggestions he could be allowed to leave the club this month.

While Rohl is keen for the wide man to prove himself following his return to first-team action against Aberdeen, speculation about his future is not fading.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I think he’s been a bit unlucky. He’s had injury problems recently.

“That’s why he’s not really been used by Danny Rohl.

“Obviously if Skov Olson comes in and if there’s any other further reinforcements then maybe that could open the door for Antman to leave right now.

“But as I said I don’t think right now that Danny Rohl will be looking to let Antman leave, especially as I said he was back on the bench against Aberdeen.

“He’ll just be hoping he can stay fit for the second half of season and get opportunities.”

Rangers set sights on Kieron Bowie deal

Rangers are interested in adding a new striker to their squad this month, with Hibs star Kieron Bowie quickly emerging as a key target at Ibrox.

Football Insider on 14 January that Hibernian are expecting offers for Bowie this month, with Celtic also joining the list of his admirers.

David Gray’s side are very reluctant to lose the 23-year-old in the mid-season window, but they are also fielding interest from clubs in the English Championship.

Football Insider recently revealed that both Celtic and Rangers have registered their interest in Bowie, which has prompted Hibs to place a lofty £6.5million price tag on his head.

That valuation is intended to ward off the interest and is seen as a high fee by both Celtic and Rangers, which could potentially price them out of a move.
