Sources: Rangers make decision on John Lundstram offer – player stance revealed
Lundstram keen to stay at Rangers past May – but he’s a top earner at Ibrox as talks intensify
Rangers are set to offer midfielder John Lundstram a new contract at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The 29-year-old’s deal is currently set to expire at the end of May and he can currently sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs ahead of a free transfer move later this year.
Ibrox boss Philippe Clement has made it publicly clear he wants to keep Lundstram – insisting as early as December that the midfielder is “important in many ways”.
The Belgian has also made his feelings known in private to the ex-Sheffield United ace.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Lundstram is keen to renew at Ibrox after a successful 2023-24 campaign so far.
The Englishman is believed to be among the top earners at Rangers, which could prove to be a sticking point as negotiations heat up.
Nevertheless, the Glasgow giants have made an offer to the midfielder – who can currently sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides.
Lundstram has made 35 appearances across all competitions this term, notching one goal and four assists.

He has racked up 135 games in total since joining Rangers on a free transfer after leaving Sheffield United in 2021.
The Everton academy product has won the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup during his time at Ibrox.
