Sources: Ross heads to Southampton after quitting Aberdeen
Ethan Ross has headed to Southampton after quitting Aberdeen, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The midfielder, who turns 20 next month, is set to join a new club after quitting the Dons last month.
A Southampton source has told Football Insider that Ross is undergoing a trial with a view to a permanent move.
A revealed by Football Insider on 11th July there was also strong interest in the youngster from Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers.
Ross left Aberdeen after knocking back their offer of a new contract.
The versatile midfielder is available as a free agent after the two-year-deal he signed in 2019 expired earlier this month.

However, the Scottish side will be entitled to compensation for the teenager.
Ross made Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass aware of his intentions to leave earlier this year.
It comes as a big blow to the club, who had hoped the Dons academy graduate would be an integral part of the first team in seasons to come.
Ross has been at Pittodrie since the age of 10 and has captained the club’s Under-18’s side.
He was recalled early from his loan at Raith Rovers last season after just three months with the Championship outfit.
The winger made five first team appearances upon his return to Aberdeen, including two substitute appearances in the league.
The Scotland Under-19 international played 15 times for Raith last season and made five goal contributions.
Aberdeen experienced a similar situation to this in 2013 when highly-rated winger Ryan Fraser left to join Bournemouth.
