Sources: Roy Hodgson will ‘100% leave’ Crystal Palace
Roy Hodgson is set to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season but there is currently no rush to make a managerial change, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Hodgson will “100% leave” Selhurst Park when his contract expires at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
The 76-year-old hit back at speculation about his future following Palace’s 3-1 win over Brentford on Saturday (30 December).
He insisted the talk is of “no interest to me at all” and “to suggest that it should is disrespectful”.
It is believed that recent performances and results mean there is no real panic over Hodgson‘s position, which he took following the sacking of Patrick Vieira late in the 2022-23 campaign.
He returned to the club in late March with the club sitting just three points above the drop zone.
Vieira had managed to go 12 games without a win, but the ex-England boss won five of 10 games at the end of the 2022-23 campaign to secure survival.
Hodgson then signed a one-year contract in the off-season to extend his second spell at Selhurst Park.
Palace now have a buffer of six points to the Premier League relegation zone following the win over Brentford.
However, another dip in form could see the club hierarchy make a change before the end of Hodgson’s contract.

Crystal Palace sit 14th in the Premier League ahead of their next top-flight game against Arsenal on 20 January.
The Eagles are next in action against Everton in the FA Cup on Thursday (4 January).
