Sources: Ryan Woods signing for Hull City today after completing medical
Hull City are set to announce the signing of Ryan Woods from Birmingham City in the next 24 hours, sources have told Football Insider.
The two clubs have reached an agreement over a permanent transfer.
The 28-year-old was left out of the Birmingham City squad for their previous two Championship games ahead of his move to the MKM Stadium.
He was pictured at Turf Moor on Tuesday alongside new City owner Acun Ilicali as the Tigers drew 1-1 with Burnley.
Football Insider reported on Saturday (13 August) that he had headed to east Yorkshire to complete a medical with the club and finalise personal terms.
Woods played the full 90 minutes of Birmingham’s two Championship games but has now been granted a move away from St. Andrew’s.
He only moved to the Midlands club last summer (2021) and has two years left to run on his contract.
Hull City have mainly targeted players from abroad under new Turkish owner Ilicali but Woods will offer vast Championship experience.
The centre-midfielder has played 248 games in the second tier across his time with Birmingham, Millwall, Stoke City and Brentford.
The Tigers have already bolstered their midfield with the free transfer signing of Jean Michael Seri from Fulham.

Ilicali is highly ambitious and wants the club to climb the table after finishing 19th in the Championship last term.
Shota Arveladze has overseen an unbeaten start to the current campaign and they sit second in the table.
