Sources: Sheffield Wednesday open new Callum Paterson talks after three Hearts offers rejected
Sheffield Wednesday are in talks to secure Callum Paterson to a new deal after rejecting three January offers from Hearts, sources have told Football Insider.
The League One promotion hopefuls turned down Hearts’ offer for Paterson on transfer deadline day after rejecting two previous offers during the window.
Paterson is out of contract at Hillsborough in the summer and had been a top target for his former club.

However, Sheffield Wednesday are working hard to try and secure Paterson on a new contract to secure his future in South Yorkshire.
The Owls are hoping his recent run in the side and their promotion push could persuade the former Cardiff man to snub offers elsewhere to sign a new deal.
Paterson, 28, has won his place back in Darren Moore’s side in recent weeks, starting five of their last eight games.
The experienced striker has now racked up 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring four times and assisting a further three.
Paterson started his career with Hearts after joining the club’s academy in 2010.
He spent two years in the club’s youth setup before signing a professional contract with the Scottish club.

Paterson then spent five years with the first team at Hearts, scoring 33 league goals for the side in over 130 appearances.
A move to Cardiff City followed in 2017 and Pateron helped the Bluebirds secure promotion to the Premier League in his first season at the club while simultaneously winning the Young Player of the Year award.
