Sources: Significant update on Ryan Jack’s future at Rangers

Ryan Jack is expected to be offered a new Rangers deal in the coming weeks, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gers are keen to tie down Jack to a contract extension before his current deal expires in the summer and want to do so as soon as possible.

The 31-year-old is one of seven senior players who will be out of contract at the end of the season and is one of three midfielders that could quit for free in the summer.

Both Scott Arfield and Steven Davis are yet to be offered new deals at Ibrox as well as Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor and Filip Helander.

The Light Blues are keen to keep hold of Jack ahead of next season and current boss Michael Beale is a huge fan of the midfielder.

As quoted by the Daily Record (11 March), Beale said the Scotland international is “a fine footballer” and someone he wants to work with moving forward.

The midfielder has suffered numerous injuries which have kept him out of the side for lengthy spells and Beale claimed that is the only thing that has stopped Jack from “going even further”.

Rangers

Jack joined the Glasgow giants from Aberdeen in 2017 on a free transfer and has made 183 appearances during his five years at Ibrox.

This season he has made 31 appearances for the Gers across all competitions and has scored two goals and provided three assists in those outings.
