Sources: St Mirren agree deal to sign Conor McMenamin

St Mirren have agreed a deal to sign Northern Ireland international Conor McMenamin, sources have told Football Insider.

The winger, 27, has been a target for a number of clubs this summer after impressing for Northern Ireland outfit Glentoran.

St Mirren had three previous bids rejected for McMenamin, but the Scottish Premiership side have now made a breakthrough in talks.

McMenamin was given an extra 10 days off after international duty with Northern Ireland but returned to training on Monday morning with the Glens.

He has amassed four caps for his country since making his international debut in June 2022.

As quoted by the Belfast Telegraph after a pre-season friendly with Linfield, St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson said: “I don’t think it’s (the deal) dead.

“The vice-chairman has been dealing with it. I know him and Glentoran were speaking.

“I don’t know where we’re at, but it certainly isn’t the figures that were reported, of that I can guarantee you — we don’t have that kind of money at St Mirren. Hopefully, there can be a deal struck.”

McMenamin began his career at Linfield, before moving to Glentoran in 2015.

He spent one season at The Oval before joining Warrenpoint Town.

In 2018, he joined Cliftonville for three years before returning to Glentoran in 2021, where he scored 38 goals in 67 appearances for the Irish Premiership side.

McMenamin has racked up 217 total appearances in his career so far, notching 73 goals and 34 assists.
