Sources: This is how Man United feel about Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace outbursts
Oliver Glasner remains a contender for the Man United job but recent frustrations and outbursts at Crystal Palace have not helped his cause.
The boss has stirred up plenty of controversy at Palace so far this season with a number of dramatic press conferences in which has has criticised the board and the fans.
Glasner is set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, and has been heavily linked with the Man United job among others thanks to his impressive work at Palace.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, the hierarchy at Old Trafford have been less than impressed by the Austrian’s conduct.
They are aware that managing Man United comes with additional pressure and expectations, which the boss must manage without denting their public image.

Oliver Glasner no longer favourite at Man United
Crystal Palace had considered sacking the boss over his comments, but Football Insider revealed Glasner is now expected to stay at Palace until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, a key factor in Ruben Amorim’s dismissal at Man United was his public comments towards the board as he was critical of their transfer policy.
Glasner’s recent actions at Palace have therefore harmed his chances of becoming the next permanent manager at United, while other names remain higher on their list.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Yeah, I think it definitely raises a few red flags, his recent behaviour. I don’t think you’d be able to get away with that at Man United.
“As a Manchester United manager, you have to put up with all types of adversity, so much scrutiny and pressure on the position.
“I don’t think anybody higher up at Old Trafford would appreciate some of the things that Oliver Glasner has done at Palace recently.
“He is a frustrated figure at the minute, with the way things have worked out at Crystal Palace, having to sell their best players in the last two windows.

“I think he was always an outsider anyway for the Man United job.
“Glasner, we know, has done a really good job at Palace, but I don’t think he was ever a front runner for this Manchester United role.”
Who will be the next permanent Man United manager?
The search for a new manager remains ongoing with a number of high profile names on their radar, with a decision not set to be made until the end of the season.
However, Football Insider revealed on 28 February that Carrick is a leading contender for Man United and has put himself in a strong position to land the role.
In his six games as interim manager, Carrick has led his side to five wins and one draw and has seen his side keep three clean sheets in that time.

Those performances have made him a leading contender for the role, despite initial plans to bring in a big-name manager as part of their ambitious plans.
Should Carrick continue his strong and lead United into the top four, even the top three come the end of the season, he will be in a very strong position.
