Sources: Tottenham make clear Archie Gray transfer plan after Bayern Munich news

Tottenham are determined to keep hold of Archie Gray and have no plans to sell him this summer despite interest from Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old has been a regular since his arrival from Leeds last summer, and remains in a strong position despite Igor Tudor replacing Thomas Frank.

So far this season, he has made 26 appearances across all competitions, including a start in Tudor’s first game as manager in the North London derby against Arsenal.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Gray is seen as one of Tottenham‘s best players and they have no desire to sell at any price.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are among the teams being tipped with a move for the versatile midfielder, but Spurs are prepared to do what they can to keep him.

Tottenham to block approaches for Archie Gray

Tottenham’s underwhelming league performances this season have led to peculation about a number of star players, who could be tempted to move on.

They currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, just four points clear of the relegation zone and nine short of a European place, with qualification unlikely.

However, they remain determined to keep hold of their best players and view Gray as unsellable despite the growing interest in his signature.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Nah, I don’t see it at all. Obviously Tottenham spent a lot of money to sign Archie Gray from Leeds.

“He’s been one of the shining lights for Tottenham in the last 12-18 months.

“Such a versatile player, he’s slotted into so many positions. Right-back, centre-back, midfield, he’s played everywhere and been a real success for Spurs.

“Tottenham want to keep hold of their best players, obviously they’re battling relegation but I don’t think they’ll be entertaining any offers for Archie Gray.

“He’s still only 19, Gray. I think he’s got the potential to be a world-class player, he’s got so much potential and if he fulfils that, I think he’ll be a long-term success at Tottenham.”

Tottenham plot incoming deals after exits to be blocked

As part of their plans to keep their best players at the club this summer, Spurs are also keen to build around them with the addition of some new stars.

Former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 26 February that Tottenham are interested in James Trafford as they aim to bolster their squad in goal.

Trafford, 23, is unhappy playing second-fiddle to Gianluigi Donnarumma at Man City and recently made his feelings clear in a revealing interview.

His discontent has led to growing interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, who feel he would be an upgrade on their current options.

Guglielmo Vicario is one player who could be allowed to leave North London after a string of underwhelming performances, and would need replacing in goal.
