Thomas Tuchel wants Chelsea to offload Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer, Football Insider understands.

The forward pair have struggled to nail down starting roles in the London giants’ highly competitive forward line this term.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that Tuchel is willing to offload Lukaku and Werner in order to recruit a “world-class” striker.

Chelsea

The Londoners could find it difficult to secure buyers for the high-earning duo, especially clubs willing to pay anywhere near their outlays.

Chelsea signed Lukaku for £97million last summer in a club-record deal, 12 months after the £45million capture of Werner.

Both strikers are under long-term contracts at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku put pen to paper on a five-year deal upon his arrival from Inter Milan last August.

Werner has just over three years remaining on his current agreement.

The duo are down the pecking order in west London, with Kai Havertz being Tuchel's preferred option up front.

Lukaku has contributed 12 goals and two assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

However, he has not scored a Premier League goal this calendar year.

Football Insider understands (22 March) Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the centre-forward.

The Ligue 1 side are making plans ahead of the potential exit of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, who has been linked with a return to Barcelona.
