Sources: West Ham 28-yr-old expected to leave in Jan – due to Mohammed Kudus

Said Benrahma is set to leave West Ham next month after falling out of favour at the London Stadium, sources have told Football Insider.

The 28-year-old forward has struggled for playing time this season and is now expected to be sold in the January window.

Mohammed Kudus has made a huge impact in the Hammers line-up since his £40million move from Ajax in the summer, leaving no space for Benrahma as a starter.

David Moyes has preferred to field Kudus and Jarrod Bowen as his first-choice wide attackers while Lucas Paqueta has also shone in a wide role this season.

Both Bowen and Kudus scored in the 2-0 win over Man United on Saturday (23 December) while Benrahma was an unused substitute.

Bowen has now scored 13 times this season across all competitions, while Kudus follows closely behind with nine goals.

In contrast, Benrahma has played just 485 minutes of league football this season across 11 appearances and has failed to score in all competitions.

Benrahma was a key performer for the London outfit last season with 12 goals in 52 appearances, but he has quickly fallen out of favour.

West Ham are now open to selling Benrahma in January to raise funds for their own transfer budget.

As revealed by Football Insider on Thursday (28 December), West Ham are also open to selling Nayef Aguerd in a ‘surprise’ January deal.

The Irons have set a £30million asking price for the Moroccan defender.
