Sources: West Ham in advanced talks to sign Emerson Palmieri after new twist
West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri, sources have told Football Insider.
The east Londoners are confident of finalising a deal for the Brazilian, 28, in the next 48 hours after further negotiations on Tuesday (16 August).
West Ham have submitted a £13million bid for Emerson and he is keen to make the move across the capital.

David Moyes’ side are also close to agreeing personal terms with the left-back.
Chelsea brought him back early from a loan spell at Lyon in January as they dealt with an injury crisis at left-wing back.
While at Lyon, Emerson featured against West Ham in both legs of the Europa League quarter-finals as the Hammers progressed 4-1 on aggregate.
He only played once in the Premier League last season and is now surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge with two years left on his contract.
Ben Chilwell has returned from injury and the Blues brought in Marc Cucurella from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal that could be worth £62million.
Emerson has not featured in a matchday squad this term and West Ham could offer him regular football.
Aaron Cresswell, 32, is the club’s only senior left-back after they let Arthur Masuaku join Besiktas on loan this summer.
Ben Johnson, a natural right-back, is also capable of playing on the left and has also filled in at centre-back in recent weeks.

Despite being born in Brazil, Emerson represents Italy at international level.
He has 27 caps for his country and was part of the squad that won the European Championships last summer (2021) and played 118 minutes as they beat England in the final at Wembley.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has issued an “indefensible” West Ham verdict as fans are outraged.
