Sources: West Ham in ‘very advanced talks’ to sign Osman after overnight development

West Ham are in very advanced talks to sign FC Nordsjaelland forward Ibrahim Osman, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hammers have submitted a £15.4m bid for the versatile attacker, 19, as they look to finalise a late-window deal.

That offer has been rejected by FC Nordsjaelland but West Ham are nonetheless confident of winning the race to sign him after further overnight negotiations.

Brentford have also shown an interest in Osman, but their London rivals are now in pole position to get a deal done.

Osman is a product of the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, the same academy that produced Irons star man Mohammed Kudus.

The 2004-born ace has had a prolific season for FC Nordsjaelland, notching four goals and five assists across 29 appearances in all competitions.

His versatility allows him to play across the front three, but he is predominately fielded on the left wing.

The Hammers have been eager for attacking recruits this month and have held talks with clubs in their efforts to bolster their frontline.

As revealed by Football Insider (20 January), they are now favourites to sign Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto with David Moyes understood to be a big admirer of the Italy international.

They are also on the verge of completing their first senior addition this month, with Football Insider revealing (23 January) that they expect to agree a deal with Man City to sign midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the next 24 hours.
