Sources: West Ham primed to agree striker signing after two deals collapse
West Ham could yet move for a new striker in January despite their successful start to the new campaign, sources have told Football Insider.
Gianluca Scamacca, who had joined the Irons for a reported £35.5million in 2022, left permanently for Atalanta in August and was not replaced.
David Moyes’ side were in the market for a striker in the window and pursued moves for the likes of Corinthians star Yuri Alberto and Paris Saint-Germain ace Hugo Ekitike.

However, they couldn’t get a deal over the line before the 1 September deadline.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (17 September) that West Ham and Crystal Palace could reignite their interest in Ekitike in January.
It is believed that all parties have accepted it is best for the 21-year-old to depart Parc des Princes in the mid-season window.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Moyes is keen to add another striker in the January window.
An injury could leave them light going forward – with West Ham playing in the Europa League from this week.
Michail Antonio has started in each of the Irons’ five Premier League games so far, scoring twice.
Danny Ings, who was signed in January, has come off the bench in four of those fixtures but is yet to find the net.

West Ham slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home against Man City on Saturday (16 September).
Nevertheless, they have picked up 10 points from five games – and face their first Europa League game against Serbian side Bačka Topola on Thursday (21 September).
