Sources: West Ham ready to accept Tomas Soucek offer
West Ham are willing to listen to offers for Tomas Soucek this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 28-year-old midfielder has remained an integral member of David Moyes’ side this season with 29 Premier League starts to his name, but he has suffered an underwhelming season with the Hammers.
Soucek’s current deal is set to expire in 2024 and talks between the player’s representatives and the club over a new contract have not progressed.
West Ham do have the option to extend his deal by 12 months and they are considering triggering the clause to protect his value.
However, it is understood that West Ham will still look to sell Soucek in the upcoming window even if the extension clause is triggered.
Soucek’s performances for the London club have been well below the standard he has set in previous seasons, with the Czech international scoring three goals and assisting six times this season.
Soucek was far more effective during Saturday’s 4-3 thriller against Crystal Palace with a goal and assist to his name, but his overall 2022/23 campaign has still been disappointing.
He has struggled to provide the same level of attacking threat that he has carried in previous seasons – Soucek scored 10 times during his first full season with the club in 2020/21 and then six times in 2021/22.

The Hammers could be set for a midfield overhaul in the summer, with club captain Declan Rice also set to leave the club after rejecting all contract offers made by the club.
Football Insider sources revealed last Saturday (22 April) that Arsenal are now in pole position to sign Rice this summer.
