Sources: Wolves star Theo Corbeanu in advanced talks to agree deadline-day move

Wolves winger Theo Corbeanu is in advanced talks with La Liga side Granada over a permanent move, sources have told Football Insider.

The Molineux club recently cancelled Corbeanu’s loan at Swiss club Grasshoppers – and they have now agreed to let the 21-year-old leave on a permanent basis to Granada.

He joined Wolves from Toronto FC in 2018 on a scholarship deal but has struggled to break through at the Premier League club.

The winger has made just one appearance during his time with the top-flight outfit – an eight-minute substitute cameo against Tottenham in 2021.

Corbeanu had four loan spells with Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Blackpool and Arminia Bielefield in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns.

The most successful of those loans came with the Seasiders, where he notched three goals and one assist in 17 Championship outings last term.

His most recent spell came in Switzerland with Grasshoppers before its termination last month (19 January).

He notched one goal and five assists in 18 appearances across all competitions for the Zurich-based club.

Corbeanu last extended his Wolves contract in 2022 and that deal is set to expire in June 2026.

The left-footed winger is a full Canada international – but last played for his country in September 2022.

He can play on both flanks but has also amassed significant experience in a centre-forward role.

Granada are in La Liga’s relegation zone this season and sit six points from safety.

Wolves sit 11th in the Premier League ahead of their clash with Man United on Thursday (1 February).
