Sources: Yuri Alberto to attend Man United match as he jets in tonight to sign for Wolves
Wolves hope to have Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto fly over from Brazil on Wednesday night (31 January), sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed earlier on Wednesday (31 January) that Wolves are in advanced talks to sign the 22-year-old as their search for a striker reaches a conclusion.
A loan deal is being discussed by both sides and the player with hours remaining in the mid-season window.
It is believed negotiations have now developed in recent hours and a flight has been booked into the UK for talks and a potential medical.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Wolves hope to have the deal for Alberto done before Thursday’s (1 February) 11pm deadline.
Sources say the Brazil international is expected to be in attendance when Gary O’Neil’s side face Man United at Molineux on Thursday.
Wolves have been chasing striking reinforcements throughout this month’s transfer window and have now identified Alberto as their top target.
The Corinthians star came close to a move to West Ham in the summer transfer window only for the move to fall through at the eleventh hour.
He netted 15 goals and provided nine assists in 63 appearances across all competitions for the Brazillian giants last season.
The 22-year-old striker made his senior Brazil debut last year (2023), coming off the bench to face Morocco in a friendly.

Alberto is set to join compatriots Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha at Molineux.
Wolves sit 11th in the Premier League and have built a healthy 11-point buffer to the relegation zone.
