‘Spent most time at Man United alone’ – Jadon Sancho verdict speaks volume

Jadon Sancho is already making plans to join a new club next summer with his Man United contract almost certain to expire.

Sources told Football Insider that Man United will not entertain the idea of extending Sancho’s contract following a miserable spell at the club.

Man United have run out of patience with Sancho, signifying a definite parting of ways between the two parties.

Sources also told Football Insider that Sancho is not a part of Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans, even at the age of 25 with much football still left to play in his career.

European clubs to come swirling as Borussia Dortmund lead the way for Sancho

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the unavoidable exit of the Englishman will see many of the continent’s elite monitor his situation in England.

Sources told Football Insider that Borussia Dortmund are keen to re-sign Sancho and a move away from the English top-flight to Europe seems the only option right now for the winger.

Failed stints at Aston Villa and Chelsea have certainly burnt the 25-year-old’s bridges in the Premier League, suggesting a move to Europe is a viable solution for his stuttering career.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “If he’s not part of United’s plans going forward, maybe it is best that they just cut their losses on him and everybody can move on and Sancho can go and put down roots at a new club as well because, undoubtedly, there’s a top player in there.

“His time at Man United, they spent big, big money on him, around £70million. It just doesn’t work out for either party.

“He spent most of his time at Old Trafford alone. He had a loan spell at Dortmund, Chelsea and now Villa. I think really now United are probably thinking it’s probably best for them to let him go on a free transfer and get those wages off the book.”

Snap Sancho sale in January could fund Vitor Roque transfer

The major consideration for the Red Devils is whether they recall the Englishman from loan in January with the hope of recouping some money through a sale, rather than letting him leave as a free agent.

The cash could be reinvested into the future under Amorim with sources telling Football Insider that Man United are monitoring Vitor Roque.

The Brazilian has been turning heads ever since he returned to his home country in February 2025 and a big name move to Old Trafford could be on the cards.

Yet, raising financial capital could be the roadblock for the Red Devils, especially given the 20-year-old is contracted until December 2029.
