Tottenham expected 4-2-3-1 v Burnley: Powerhouse in, £15m ace out in three changes

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – Skipper Lloris saved Spurs from further humiliation against City, keeping out several efforts as he was bombarded for the full 90 minutes. He is expected to line up as always for Spurs.

Serge Aurier (Right-back) – Aurier was unlucky to miss out against City after a really solid display against Brighton the game before, and is expected to come in for Kieran Trippier against Burnley. Trippier will be sad to miss out against his former club, but he was poor last weekend, and is expected to pay the price.

Davinson Sanchez (Centre-back) – The Colombian powerhouse has been a revelation for Spurs since his big-money move from Ajax in the summer, and he will be welcomed back from a three-match suspension with open arms. Spurs have dearly missed his presence at the back, and he is expected to replace £15million midfield destroyer Mousa Dembele on Saturday.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – Vertonghen put in a rare uncertain display against City, but has still been one of Spurs’ most consistent performers this season. He is expected to retain his place against Burnley.

Ben Davies (Left-back) – Davies was a surprise omission against City, with Danny Rose keeping his place for two games in a row, which is a rare occurrence under Pochettino’s policy of rotating his full-backs. The Welsh international is therefore expected to take Rose’s place on Saturday.
