Spurs ignite interest in ‘distinguished’ Rangers star who Gers fans ‘should enjoy while they can’

Thomas Frank is already looking at bolstering his Spurs squad, in what could prove to be a massive blow for the next Rangers boss.

Rangers sacked Russell Martin after 123 days in charge, and have received a number of set backs as they look to acquire his replacement.

The Gers are currently without a manager before Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United at Ibrox, whilst Spurs’ 2-1 win at Leeds has the north London club third in the Premier League.

Frank has made a positive start to life at Spurs, and is looking ahead to future transfer windows to add further quality to his squad.

Nico Raskin linked with Spurs move

Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin was the subject of strong interest from many Premier League and European clubs in the summer.

The 24-year-old stayed at Ibrox, but amid the crisis at Ibrox, the Belgian is attracting further attention.

As per the Daily Mail, [15 October], Spurs are “credited with an interest” in Raskin, whose Rangers contract expires in 2027.

The Rangers hierarchy would certainly enhance their approval ratings among the fanbase if they could persuade Raskin to sign a new deal,” the Daily Mail reported.

Based on the current trajectory of his reputation, however, it seems more likely they will have to cash in on the player for what should be a healthy profit next summer. Rangers should enjoy him while they can.”

Raskin was hailed as “distinguished“, as per Le Soir during Belgian’s win over Wales during the international break, with the midfielder earning praise for his performance.

Spurs looking for Yves Bissouma replacement

Rodrigo Bentancur signed a new long-term contract at Spurs, but fellow midfielder Yves Bissouma’s deal runs out at the end of the season.

Frank may be looking for a replacement for the 29-year-old, with loanee Joao Palhinha already touted for a permanent move at the end of the season.

Raskin would be a younger alternative to both those players, and hi stats in the Scottish Premiership last campaign, shows the 24-year-old deserves to make the step up.
