Stan Collymore makes bold claim about Leeds, has this to say about Monk

By Amir Mir

Stan Collymore has made a bold claim by stating that the Leeds supporters make the “loudest noise” in England following their 2-1 win at Blackburn on Wednesday night.

Broadcaster Collymore also stated that he was “delighted” for their manager Garry Monk and believes they could be making a return to the Premier League very soon.

Former Swansea manager Monk led his team to a valuable three points at Ewood Park as they moved to within one point of third-placed Reading in the Championship table.

Northern Ireland international Stuart Dallas opened the scoring with 16 minutes left on the clock, but Owen Coyle’s side struck nine minutes later through Elliott Bennett.

However, Monk’s side showed their class and scored the winner with minutes left on the clock when Pontus Jansson headed home Pablo Hernandez’ cross.

This was Collymore’s verdict on Leeds and the current job manager Garry Monk is doing as posted on his personal Twitter account.

“Delighted for Garry Monk,” said Collymore. “Loudest noise in England may yet be back at the top.”

As a result of that win, the Whites have bounced back following their humiliating 1-0 loss to non-league side Sutton in the FA Cup at the weekend.

In the Championship, they are in fourth place on 54 points from their 29 games, five points behind second-placed Newcastle, who drew 2-2 with QPR on the same night.

The Yorkshire club will now travel to their Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield on Sunday for a mouth-watering Championship encounter.
