Stan Collymore predicts Newcastle clash against Manchester City
Stan Collymore doesn’t believe that Newcaste United will be able to pull of an upset against Manchester City on Wednesday night and expects Pep Guardiola’s side to win at St. James’ Park.
The former Liverpool and England attaker has predicted that Man City will earn a convincing 3-1 win on Tyneside, which means that Guardiola’s men will move a stunning 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Newcastle will no doubt be boosted after their 3-2 win at West Ham last week, but Collymore, who posted his predictions on his personal Twitter account on Monday, clearly believes that this will be too big a task for Rafa Benitez’s men.
Newcastle can slip down the standings if their goal difference is dented by Man City as they currently sit 15th, above Crystal Palace and West Ham but level on points.
Man City have already netted 60 goals in 19 Premier League fixtures this campaign and, according to Collymore, will continue their goalscoring streak by notching three more against the Magpies.
In the last 21 meetings in all competitions between Newcastle and Man City, the Tyneside side have won just once, dating all the way back to 2005.
In other Newcastle United news, the Magpies have held multiple rounds of talks over a move for a striker in January.
