Stan Kroenke wants to build ‘dynasty’ at Arsenal after double deal agreed
Arsenal have been praised for their long-term strategy as owner Stan Kroenke looks to set the foundations for future success at the club.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes Kroenke wants to build a “dynasty” at the Emirates.
Arsenal have agreed deals to sign Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle, based in Ecuador, to further bolster their academy.
Piero Hincapie and Moises Caicedo were both developed at the South American club, and Arsenal have had success from their academy in recent years, with 15-year-old Max Dowman the latest to breakthrough into the first-team.
Arsenal looking to build ‘a dynasty’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is full of praise for Arsenal‘s sporting director Andrea Berta.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes there could also be a further announcement about Arsenal’s redevelopment of Emirates Stadium soon.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “This is exactly what Arsenal have been showing some very good signs recently. I think Andrea Berta, who’s come in, has done a great job.
“And yes, Arsenal, not just with these couple of kids coming through, there are a few others that they’re looking to get in there. We’ve seen old Max [Dowman], the young 15-year-old superstar. Look, Mikel is actually, from what I understand, certainly from speaking to my Arsenal contacts, he is actually getting involved in helping to build that sort of, you know, legacy going forward.
“And there’s no doubt Kroenke is after a dynasty. He wants to try and build that the right way. And they are certainly not just short-term investors. They’re looking longer term and they want to build something going forward.
“Along with this, we’ll probably see an announcement, I think, reasonably soon about the Emirates, you know, redevelopment and moving forward with that. So Arsenal are definitely looking long-term and I think that’s the way that they’ve got to do it because most clubs are starting to get there, but I Arsenal are actually right at the front of the pack in terms of laying down the foundations to go very well.
“Chelsea have been doing very well, as we know as well, with the academy system, and a couple of other clubs are starting to sort of play catch up a little bit with those two. But yes, full kudos to Arsenal, they’re doing well.”

Andrea Berta closing in on January addition
Berta is leading Arsenal’s pursuit of Elche midfielder Rodrigo Mendoza, who could join the Gunners for £17million in January.
However, Arsenal will face competition from Premier League rivals Man City and Real Madrid for the 20-year-old.
The signing could strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad further, as the club look to win the Premier League title this season.
