By Amir Mir

Leeds have opened up disciplinary proceeding against Charlie Taylor – and fans on Twitter have agreed with the club’s decision.

The 23-year-old refused to play for Garry Monk’s side during their final Championship match of the season against Wigan last Sunday.

BBC journalist Adam Pope reported on his personal Twitter account that after those events the club have now started disciplinary proceeding against their player.

Here is the key development about Taylor and the fans subsequently going berserk with messages below:

There is no surprise that the fans were delighted to see Taylor disciplined by the club as many want to see him punished for his actions.

Taylor’s contract at Elland Road is due to expire in the summer, with the left-back looking highly unlikely to sign a new deal.

One fan stated that Taylor possibly moving to another club will be his loss because he will end up being a benchwarmer elsewhere.

While another supporter wants Taylor punished by the club forcing him to stay another year despite his contract running out at the end of June.

Fans were in agreement that Taylor should be punished, with the youngster coming through the club’s academy as a youngster.

Defender Taylor has played 32 Championship and EFL Cup matches for his side during his injury-hit campaign.

He helped his team progress through to the quarter-final stages of the League Cup before they were knocked out by Liverpool.

Taylor’s attacking performance during the match against the Premier League side did catch the eye of supporters.

He last played for the club during their 2-1 defeat away at Burton Albion at the end of April as he was then an unused substitute for the following 3-3 draw against Norwich at Elland Road.
