Stefan Borson drops ‘enormous’ verdict on Man City completing double Aston Villa raid
Manchester City are continuing to be linked with potential new signings as Pep Guardiola looks to improve his squad.
Aston Villa star Ezri Konsa has emerged as an option for multiple Premier League clubs, with Man City believed to be one of the interested parties.
Konsa impressed in Aston Villa’s 1-0 victory over Man City on 26 October, where Matty Cash scored the winning goal at Villa Park.
Liverpool have also been linked with Konsa as Arne Slot looks to strengthen at centre-back in the January transfer window.

Man City could make Ezri Konsa move
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Konsa and Boubacar Kamara are two Aston Villa players Guardiola would be interested in signing if the right deal came along.
Konsa has started in all 12 of his appearances this season, while he also impressed for England in last month’s international break.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “Well, Konsa was great against City, so I suspect that’s where the story’s from as opposed to it necessarily being true.
“I think Villa have got a number of players who fall into that category of players that City would probably look at if they could.
“I mean, Kamara is probably in that sort of category as well.”

Kamara is also a key player for Unai Emery, having started in nine of his 12 appearances this season.
Aston Villa’s asking price could block Konsa move
Borson believes Aston Villa would demand an “enormous” fee to sell any of their stars following Man City’s reported interest.
“Unless Villa got themselves into a real bind in terms of PSR, I don’t think it’s likely that City would move for either player unless it was a contractual opportunity, either a release fee or an end of contract,” said Borson.
“The problem with trying to buy a player from Aston Villa of that quality, a player they don’t want to sell obviously, is just the cost. It’s just so enormous.
“I suspect City are going to be very reluctant to buy players at that sort of price level.”
Man City currently sit second in the Premier League table, while Aston Villa are in 11th spot.
