Stefan Borson: This is how much Aston Villa could accept for Morgan Rogers after financial update
Aston Villa could sell Morgan Rogers for up to £100million if they decide to cash in on him this summer.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider letting the England international leave would create a “big hole” in Unai Emery’s squad.
Rogers had a slow start to the season, but he’s been integral for Villa over the past few months.
The 23-year-old has registered 10 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances, helping the West Midlands giants compete for a Champions League place and progress through to the last 16 of the Europa League.
Villa’s stance on selling Rogers remains unchanged as they look to keep hold of their prize asset, but a big-money offer could force their hand this summer.

Uefa’s European Club Finance and Investment Landscape report, which the governing body publishes annually, revealed on 26 February Villa recorded a pre-tax loss of £82m last season.
Emery’s side have been forced to sell players in recent years to help them comply with the various spending restrictions.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson discussed the possibility of Villa selling Rogers to improve their financial situation.
“The big question for Villa is, do they have players that they can trade for profit that will balance these losses?” said Borson.
“Now, that’s something they’re not going to want to do, but clearly, they could make the best part of £100m by selling Rogers. That would be great, but of course, it leaves a big hole in the squad.

“Can Emery continue to compete and qualify for the Champions League off this lower wage bill? Well, you’d think there’s a pretty good chance.
“They’re in a good position in the league and they’ve also got arguably Emery’s magic power in the Europa League, so they could qualify through that as well. They’re well placed, but it’s very difficult.”
Why Aston Villa are ‘right on the edge’ after financial reveal
Borson insisted Villa are “right on the edge” with their financial situation as they look to challenge at the top of the Premier League and in Europe.
“There’s very little room for error when you’re Aston Villa,” said Borson.
“They’ve done really well so far. They’ve used the loan market really well.

“They’ve been actually quite cautious with the way that they’ve approached these things, but even in that scenario, they’re still right on the edge.”
Villa are fighting to keep hold of their Champions League place following their inconsistent recent form in the Premier League, while they are set to face Lille in the last 16 of the Europa League.
