Stefan Borson: This is the most likely scenario for Marcus Rashford after PSG swoop

Marcus Rashford is enjoying a successful spell at Barcelona after joining on loan from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Rashford has been tipped to make a permanent move to Barcelona following his impressive form for the Catalan side.

The Spanish giants hold the option to buy the England international for around £30million next summer.

However, PSG have been linked with a move to sign Rashford once his loan deal at Barcelona comes to an end in June 2026.

Man United get Marcus Rashford transfer boost

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Barcelona are likely to seal a permanent deal for Rashford next summer.

It is expected Rashford won’t play for Man United again even if the Spanish giants don’t take up their option to buy the 28-year-old.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider about PSG’s interest in Rashford, Borson said: “Well, I don’t think his value is going to go any higher than the option that Barcelona have got.

“But clearly, if there’s a couple of teams that are interested, that’s better for United. You’d think somebody will take him for £30m.

“I mean, the only problem is if Barcelona didn’t or couldn’t, what would his attitude be to going somewhere else? You just don’t know.”

Rashford could have to accept a pay cut if he is to seal a permanent move to Barcelona, with his Man United salary worth around £325,000 a week.

Barcelona will ‘find a way’ to agree Rashford deal

Borson insisted Barcelona will “find a way” to sign Rashford despite their well-documented financial issues.

“I guess part of the attraction of these performances right now is because he’s so engaged in the Barcelona situation and obviously desperate to move there, so you have to see what he’s like if he moves to somewhere else,” said Borson.

“But I think most likely he’ll end up at Barcelona. I think at that sort of price, they’ll find a way to do the deal probably.”

Rashford has registered six goals and 10 assists in 20 appearances for Barcelona this season, helping them build up a four-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.

That form has also seen the forward earn his place back in the England squad over the past few months.
