Stefan Borson: This is when Liverpool could make new Marc Guehi offer – ‘Watch this space’
Marc Guehi’s future remains up in the air as Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for the Crystal Palace captain.
Guehi’s proposed summer move to Liverpool collapsed on deadline day despite a £35million deal being agreed between the two parties.
Palace want to avoid losing Guehi on a free transfer when his contract at Selhurst Park expires on 30 June.
It is believed Liverpool remain keen on signing the England international, but they have to decide on whether to make a new offer this month or risk a battle for his signature in the summer.
Manchester City have also been linked with a move to sign Guehi alongside multiple top clubs in the Premier League and across Europe.

Liverpool could ‘put Crystal Palace on the spot’ with Marc Guehi offer
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it could be a situation of “watch this space” on deadline day again for Guehi.
Arne Slot is exploring his options to strengthen his squad this month following Liverpool’s challenging first half of the campaign.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they found somebody in that kind of £50-60million level or if they did the Marc Guehi signing if they could get that over the line for let’s say £35m.
“Somebody’s going to have to put Crystal Palace on the spot and say to Crystal Palace, ‘Look, you’ve got zero coming in the summer if you hold him. What do you want to do? Keep a player for let’s say 30 matches total, including Europe, for £35m or do you want to sell him at the end of January?’.

“I think it’s going to be one of those watch this space on deadline day. Does somebody want to pay £35m for Guehi? Obviously, the most likely team to do that is Liverpool.”
Guehi makes decision about quitting Crystal Palace in January
It is believed Guehi won’t push for a move away from Palace this month.
However, interest has mounted in the 25-year-old, who is now able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs overseas.
It is understood the centre-back will leave Selhurst Park in the summer if he doesn’t seal a move over the coming weeks.
Guehi has registered three goals and four assists in 31 appearances for Oliver Glasner’s side this season.
