Stephen Welsh has played his last game for Celtic – fans react
Celtic fans are insisting Stephen Welsh should have played his last game for the club after his performance in the Scottish League Cup win v Falkirk.
Brendan Rodgers’ side emerged as 5-2 winners from the game despite going into half-time a goal down against their Scottish Championship opponents.
Celtic found the opening goal courtesy of Paulo Bernardo, before goals from Ross MacIver and Finn Yeats send the visitors ahead, and second-half braces from both Niclas Kuhn and Adam Idah eventually proved the difference.
However, the spotlight of the home supporters remained fixed on some below-par performances from some of the players brought in by Rodgers in a heavily rotated side.
Welsh, 24, received the brunt of the criticism for his display after the Hoops shipped two goals to lower-league opposition and he was dragged off after 85 minutes.
As a result of his lacklustre display, supporters insisted he should never start a game at Parkhead again and called for the club to let him go.

Football Insider revealed in July that Celtic were willing to entertain offers for Welsh during the transfer window should any serious offers arrive.
However, nothing materialised, and the centre-back has remained a part of Rodgers’ squad, making his first appearance of the season against Falkirk.
After his display in the League Cup clash, Celtic supporters are insisting he should never play for them again as they labelled him “pathetic” and “atrocious”.
