Steve Hitchen: Tottenham expert slams leaks ‘he’s feeding to reporters’
Steve Hitchen’s failure to secure a new job proves Tottenham were right to get rid of him.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 2 February, Tottenham announced Hitchen had left his position as the club’s technical performance director.

The Independent reported on the same day Hitchen was a target for Everton and Newcastle.
An Everton source told this site the former Tottenham chief was actually “unimpressive” during his interview in early February but he is nonetheless in advanced talks to land the director of football role.
Wenham insists Spurs after better off with Fabio Paratici at the helm.
“This is exactly what I have been saying, there has been a lot of revisionism and rewriting of Hitchen’s time at Spurs since he left,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s all coming from people who, I assume, are being fed information by him.
“He’s feeding this to reporters. It’s the same journalists banging the same drum about all the experience Tottenham have lost now he’s gone.
“Well, he’s gone for two interviews and didn’t get either job. Then you look at the job Paratici has done so far.
“The signings of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur look a million miles better than the signings Hitchen made in terms of the value for money and impact on the team.
“It seems Paratici is infinitely better and the fact Hitchen can’t get another job speaks volumes in my opinion.”

Hitchen was a scout at Tottenham between 2005 and 2010.
He returned to the club in a more senior role in 2017, heading up their recruitment for a number of years.
