Steven Naismith is a future Rangers manager

Steven Naismith is admired in Scotland and is considered to be a future Rangers manager, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hearts boss has made headlines during his first season in charge at Edinburgh and has attracted interest from several clubs.

As revealed by Football Insider, Millwall are among a number of Championship clubs keeping tabs on Naismith ahead of the summer.

Naismith, 37, has guided his Hearts side to a comfortable third place in the Scottish Premiership and is on course to qualify for European football next season.

They are 13 points clear of St Mirren in fourth and trail Celtic by 13 points in second.

Rangers consider ex-star Naismith as future head coach

Naismith spent five years of his playing career at Ibrox between 2007 and 2012 where he scored 33 goals and provided 30 assists in 132 appearances.

He won three league titles with the Glasgow giants as well as one Scottish Cup and two Scottish League Cups.

Rangers

Gers are happy with Philippe Clement’s progress at the club since replacing Michael Beale at Ibrox in October 2023, but view Naismith as a future manager once he gains more experience.

He currently boasts a 53 percent win record as manager and has led Hearts to beat Celtic twice in one season for the first time in 17 years.
