Stuart Armstrong: Celtic senior man helped me do this
By Dominic Toner
Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong believes that manager Brendan Rodgers has helped him develop into the player he is now.
The 24-year-old has thrived under Rodgers’ tenure this season since his summer arrival at Celtic Park.
He has predominately played as a winger during his career, but has enjoyed success as a central midfielder this campaign.
The Scotsman has made 33 appearances this season across all competitions, scoring nine goals and supplying six assists.
Armstrong has credited the impact of boss Rodgers on his progression and feels he has improved as a player.
“I’ve learned a great deal since his arrival and have developed a player too,” Armstrong said, as quoted but the club’s official Twitter account.
Armstrong is an ever-present in the Bhoys midfield and is hoping to help them achieve a domestic treble this season.
They have several attacking threats in their side including the likes of Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths.
Armstrong has been just as important to the team as anyone and ex-Liverpool manager Rodgers has managed to get the best out of him.
The midfielder has recently returned from a hamstring injury and is fighting to regain his starting spot, with Wednesday’s match away to Inverness his next chance to feature.
In other Celtic news, Christian Gamboa has stated how much he would pay to sign Moussa Dembele.
