Stuart Dallas: Leeds United told to offer six-month deal to star after ‘horrific’ blow – expert
Paul Robinson has claimed that it will be “disappointing” if Leeds United don’t offer a new six-month contract extension to Stuart Dallas.
The former England, Leeds and Tottenham goalkeeper exclusively told Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Dallas deserves a chance to return to fitness and fight for a spot in Daniel Farke’s squad.
Dallas has been out of action for close to two years with his last performance coming under Jesse Marsch in a 4-0 defeat against Man City.
The 32-year-old has struggled to return to fitness since suffering a leg fracture during the City defeat and his contract at Elland Road is set to expire in the summer.
As revealed by Football Insider, Dallas is expected to leave the club this summer without playing at all this season.
Leeds United urged to sign new Stuart Dallas deal this season
The Northern Irishman has made a total of 267 appearances for the Whites, scoring 28 goals and assisting 18.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson has urged his former side to offer Dallas a short-term extension as he recovers from his “horrific” injury.
“It is very disappointing for him,” Robinson said.
“I think he [Dallas] deserves another year – it’s a horrific injury for somebody of his age.
“With his attitude, application, his commitment and his effect in the dressing room, I would be surprised if the club didn’t extend his deal.

“He’s been out for such a long time. I would be disappointed if he didn’t get at least another six-month contract to get himself fully fit.
“At some point between now and the end of the season, you’d like to see him given some kind of an extension to get back fit enough to compete for a place in the starting lineup or the squad.“
