The summer signing from Manchester City came with a big price tag – £4.5million – but recent performances have shown this to be a bargain.
He was a lynchpin of some decent performances before Christmas, before being dropped for the Old Firm derby.
However he came on and changed the game with a powerful performance, and has been an ever present since.
Forming a blossoming partnership with Scott Brown, he looks set to be the main man in Celtic’s midfield for many years to come.
